It’s not very often I try a new foundation, you know
the drill, No7 and Lancôme, but with it being a new year I thought I’d talk to
you about a new base. This is the L’Oreal Pro Glow foundation, I picked this up
whilst I was in New York in CVS and I’ve been trying it out so I could review
it for you. It’s not currently out in the UK but I’m sure it will make its way
to our shores very soon.
I remember L’Oreal releasing the pro-matte
foundation and wishing that they would create a glow boosting formula perfect
for dry skin, fast forward a couple of months…
This foundation is glowy, if you don’t like glow
then I wouldn’t go anywhere near this. Don’t get me wrong we’re not talking looking
like you’ve spent an hour in the gym, but it does make you look radiant and
well, glowy. I have to say it’s the best foundation I’ve tried from the
drugstore for this and is almost the perfect formula for dry skin. It’s really
light in consistency and blends in like a dream; my favourite part is that it
doesn’t cling to any dry patches. The lasting time is pretty impressive, I find
that it sticks around all day without a primer, that being said, I’m not so
confident that it would hold up as well on oily skin.
The only thing I don’t like about this foundation is
the colour range. I picked up the shade 202(the second lightest!) which is just
slightly too light for me, however, I feel that the next yellow-toned shade
would have been too dark. There are 12 shades in the range, however, I just don’t
feel that they are of a big enough range. The one thing they have done well is
creating the right mix of yellow and pink undertones, however, there is just something
about the shade range that doesn’t sit right. It’s also worth noting that if
you have darker skin you might struggle to find a shade for you.
This foundation retails for $12.99 and is possible
one of my favourite foundations I’ve ever tried for dry skin. It’s just the
perfect balance of everything.
I will also do a review and demo video of this soon
which I will link for you when I’ve done it so that you can see how it looks on
the skin.
Have you tried this foundation, what do you think
about it?
